I am so glad I got a photo of this planter! I have one on either side of my front stoop. We have gotten so much rain and these beautiful flowers are very close to death. I am hoping they will come back but it doesn't look good :)

…and swimming!!!

…and you just never know where you will find Sophia's head!!!

…and swimming lessons!!!

…and cleaning the pool!!!
No bugs in the pool…

…and its so much fun when cousins throw you!!!

RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!!!

15 days of rain in April and a few days of snow,
15 days of rain in May,
and so far 15 days of rain in June.
RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!!!

I completely understand the April showers because ya know they bring May flowers…well right now my flowers are drowning. AND...This is seriously putting a dent in my lazy days of relaxation sitting by the pool. Thank goodness we didn't plop down a whole bunch of money on a pool heater. I really wanted one until I saw the price :( It would just be sitting out there getting rained on while I sat inside thinking of all the things I could have bought with that lump of cash!!! RAIN RAIN GO AWAY.

Well I guess I shouldn't be so surprised. So far 2014 hasn't been all that great weather or health wise.

Weather wise:
16 days of snow in January with 15 days below freezing (-9 the lowest),
18 days of snow in February with 17 days below freezing,
8 days of snow in March with 4 days below freezing and I think we were sitting at B's college baseball games for all 12 of those freezing days. Except for that first wonderful week in March that we spent in FL for spring training. Ahhhhh Baseball and the Beach!!! A few of my favorite things.

Health wise:
From January to March: 3, count them 1,2,3 KIDNEY STONES!!! I don't care what anyone says this is the worst pain ever…and I've experienced lots and lots and LOTS of pain prior to this. Just so you know (and I pray you never do) the stent that is suppose to help is just as painful as the kidney stone. How do I know this? When they put me out and went in to blast the stone and put the stent in so that none of the pieces would cause blockage (which according to Dr. J the blockage is what causes the pain, not the stone. I'm still on the fence about that). So as I said they went in to blast the stone but the stone was already gone. They still put the stent in and for the next week, until they took the stent out, I had just as much pain. So thankful for pain medication.

If you are squeamish you may want to skip this part.

Now I'm the type of patient who wants to know as little as possible. If you are my doctor I trust you to take good care of me so just give me the basics and do what you need to do. So I go to have the stent removed and after it is out Dr. J says "do you want to see it"? My brain is screaming NOOOO you don't want to see it but because I don't want to appear squeamish I look over at him and holy stent tube batman it is ginormous! After I get home of course I web search it and here are some pictures:

This is a stent.

It goes from the kidney to the bladder

This is the scope used to remove the stent

More health wise:
Ever since this started my blood work has been out of whack. Elevated calcium, elevated creatinine, elevated tryglicerides. What in tarnation is going on!!! My PCP wanted to put me on a medication for the high trygliceride but I told them I wanted to try to adjust my diet first and see if that helps. I did learn from my oncologist that the Arimidex she has me on can elevate the tryglicerides so she recommended getting more omega 3 fatty acids in my diet. So thats what I'm doing. The elevated creatinine is most likely related to the kidney stones and the elevated calcium could be too.
They did test the one stone and it was a uric acid stone. They are concerned that I developed stones 2 and 3 in such a short period of time (they did not show up on the X-rays, ultrasounds, and CT scans in January) so I will be having some Metabolic testing done soon…as long as it doesn't involve a stent I'm good to go!!!
