How to deal with an empty nest 101

My nest is now empty for the school year. B moved in with his brother and they started their classes on Aug. 22nd. We took them out to dinner on the 24th for J's birthday and on the 26th I hopped in the car with my hubby and tagged along on his business trip to FL....4 days on the beach....

The view from our room

We've come here 3 times with the kids.

I love love love it here and it was very nice (strange without J and B) but I couldn't wait to get back home! Why you ask??? To meet my brand new beautiful great niece G. She was suppose to arrive the end of September with me by her mommies side but she had her own plans and decided she wanted to have an August birthday...August 27th to be exact.

So now I am spending lots of time with G in her nest :)

Well its been a while since I've written a post. With B graduating and all the high school and summer baseball...well it was just very overwhelming and exhausting. May brought a lot of senior events and graduation of course. The high school baseball season came to an end. Unfortunately the team did not do very well. Brian had a good season and made the Wpial all star team. We are so proud of him. J finished up his 3rd year of college. He rehabed an injured shoulder all season so he redshirted for the season and now will be eligible to play in a fifth year of school. B will be joining him at school this Friday and they will now get to play two years of college ball together. B coasted right into summer ball after hs ball. The game schedule was very busy with very few breaks. During all this we also had a problem with our dining room ceiling...part of it fell onto my china closet! So we have been under construction in the dining and living room for the past 4 months...ugh! Right after B's graduation party in June I had my last plastic surgery. It went very well and I'm so happy to be done. Then my laptop died...wonderful! I still haven't gotten a new one and have been using my phone for almost everything, including this post, bc my hubbys laptop is painfully slow. Through all this my gut has been so so. Nothing toooooo bad, the stress of the last 4 months has not been very helpful. I don't expect the fall to be much better with both my boys being away at school. So that's whats been happening with me. I hope you have all been well and I will not take so long to post again.

Meds to the rescue

Sorry for the lack of updates. That cold really knocked me down. My doc. gave me an antibiotic and cough medicine which helped a lot. I’m feeling much better except for the hot flashes and panic attacks in the middle of the night…oh Tamoxifen I wish you weren’t so cruel! My crohns has behaved for the most part but that lovely period of better bowels I talked about recently…its gone. I did enjoy it while it lasted.
I hope it doesn’t take me so long to update again. We are in the middle of a remodeling project that decided to start on its own!!! I’m going a bit crazy with that. Dirt and plaster everywhere. I’ll have to post some pictures when I have a chance.
